EMS Medical Direction Consulting: What Is It?

EMS Medical Direction Consulting is a medical direction, educational resource, and emergency preparedness consulting agency based in Corrales, New Mexico. We work with hospitals, EMS Services, and political entities to advance Emergency Medical Services. We provide information regarding medical control, protocol development and implementation, and serve as both an on-line and off-line link between the emergency medicine physician groups and field EMS providers. EMSMDC has expanded into the role of all hazard planning and preparedness and has been working with the Department of Homeland Security and several of the National Laboratories in the areas of integration of EMS, hospital systems, and public health.

Philip Froman, MD, FACEP, is the president of EMSMDC. A paramedic turned MD, he is an Emergency Medicine physician dedicated to EMS medical direction and all hazard planning and preparedness. Active in all aspects of emergency services, he splits his time between EMS medical direction and special project consulting.
