AMCSS Admission Criteria
Render
services to all those individuals in need regardless of their race,
color, sex, age religious beliefs or physical handicaps, if such
handicaps do not interfere with the individual’s ability to
realize the benefits of the program and the individual is capable
of caring for his basic personal needs.
To be eligible for admission, intoxicated individuals must be conscious,
cooperative, non-violent, and free from any medical distress. In
addition, individuals must also meet one of the following criteria:
- Referral from a public safety agency, i.e. Police Department, Sheriffs
Department, Fire Department and Ambulance Service.
- Referral from a social service, medical or alcoholism and/or drug
service agency (Detox).
- Self-referral.
- Display a sincere desire to withdraw from alcohol and/or drugs.
- No apparent underlying injuries:
- Bleeding from a head injury.
- Dried blood; specifically from the nose, mouth, ears, etc.
- Unable to walk into facility on their own.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must voluntarily request Detoxification Services at the Albuquerque
Metropolitan Community Sobering Services.
