Please click here for a copy of the 2008 Valencia County Protocols in pdf format. These can be downloaded to any PDA that supports pdf formats. You can also click here to get the Valencia County specific Scope of Practice. All departments must create a sign off sheet that each EMS member has read and understands the new protocols. This is to be retained in the department or at the Fire Marshall's office. To utilize the new scope of practice, you must have taken a State refresher and you must be signed off by the medical director or his designee. Forward any comments or concerns to me regarding updates or problems.

Print the mandatory PHI documents in English and Spanish, to be given out to all patient and non-patients.

EMS Board meeting is the 2nd Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Below is the Q.I. schedule. The meetings are on the 4th Thursday of the month at 18:30 hours unless otherwise noted.

The new source for web CEs is EMCert.com. You can get CEs for $4 per unit. There are also bundles: 10 units for $30, 24 units for $60, 40 units for $80, or an unlimited bundle. Dana is the contact person at 1-877-367-4376 if you have questions. I have done some of the cases and it appears to be a good source for CEs. At the current time only 10 CEs per year are valid in NM for remote learning. This is consistent with the National Registry paramedic level stipulation of 10 units for remote or distant learning.
